“Monterey Sunset” was created in Melody Randol’s “Stencils & Sponges” workshop.
The tree is Melody’s photograph which she printed onto freezer paper. We (students) cut out the stencils and ironed them onto our base quilt, then painted the tree and removed the stencil. It was finished with free-motion zigzag quilting. Such a fun workshop, but it’s really hard to paint onto a quilt the first time!
